The Game Changer shank design was and is the staple in multi articulated joints or as what I like to call vertebrae. When I was trying to make a fly swim like a real fish I tried many ways to achieve this serpentine swimming action but failed many times. Until I sat back and thought about what makes a fish truly swim? There are a couple of key things, muscle, fins and most importantly their vertebrae. I used a wire bender and stainless-steel wire to play around with different lengths to achieve the desired swimming action in relation to the size of the bait/fly.

The results became Game Changing for me, my fly designs and fishing. With these shank designs the Game Changer fly was born and giant fish haven’t been safe since.
