Giant Lake Minnetonka Walleyes with Stokes

We’ve been talking about filming this trip with Stokes for a long time, and our schedules finally lined up. The goal was simple: showcase the trophy-class walleyes swimming right here in the Twin Cities metro. Lake Minnetonka delivered in a big way.

It’s easy to think you need to travel hours north to find quality walleye fishing, but this trip proves that some incredible opportunities can be found close to home. Lake Minnetonka can be a challenging body of water, but with the right preparation, equipment, and time on the water, it has the potential to produce the fish of a lifetime.

This was the kind of day that reminds us why we fish. Time spent with good people, the anticipation of every bite, and big walleyes coming over the side of the boat—it doesn’t get much better than that.
