The Predator Blanks are a St. Croix SCV (Legend Elite) graphite finished in an eye catching metallic steel blue. The actions are custom designed by the Thorne Bros. Rod Builders, Staff, and Pro-Staff to give you our idea of the best Bass and Walleye Blanks available. We also build on every St. Croix blank that is available. Reel Seat Options

Baitcast:

Standard Fuji: A popular option for those wanting an original look and feel to their Rod.

 

Fuji Exposed Blank: A slightly more modern look and feel. This is a blank-thru seat allowing you direct contact with the rod.

 

SK2 Baitcast: A modern look and feel. This is a split reel seat that follows a minimalist approach allowing for the smallest footprint and most blank contact possible.

Spinning:

Standard Fuji 16: A popular option for those wanting an original look and feel to their Rod.

 

Hidden Hood: An extremely popular Thorne Bros. Original Reel seat. This seat is hand crafted so that your hand is on Cork instead of a hard plastic reel seat.

 

SK2 Spinning: A modern look and feel. This is a split reel seat that follows a minimalist approach allowing for the smallest footprint and most blank contact possible.

Locking Tennessee: This reel seat is truly a piece of art meets fish catching ingenuity. The entire reel seat, threads and all, is encased or made out of cork. So the only thing your hand will touch is the highest grade cork available. A very popular one among long time Thorne Bros. customers.

 

Straight Cork Tennessee: A minimalist handle that you will have to attach your reel to with some sort of electrical or special reel tape. We bring back a classic handle and offer it to those wanting it on a modern rod.

 

WINN Grip Spinning: WINN grips have been popular in the custom golf club game for years, now they can be found in the custom fishing rod world as well. A durable grip that retains its tackiness in many different situations.

Fore Grip Styles (Baitcast)

Epoxy Roll: This is a popular option for those who do not want/need a fore grip. Allows for instant contact to the blank and cuts the most weight possible off of the rod.

 

2" Standard: This is a 2" standard cone style reel seat. Offers a classic look and feel to your rod.

 

SK2 EVA-Locking: This is a locking style fore grip built out of EVA foam. The foam actually goes over the locking piece on the reel seat and screws down as close to the reel as possible. Allowing for a tight fit and feel. Only available with the SK2 reel seat.

 

Rear Grip Styles

Full-Grip Straight: A straight taper with an all cork or Syn-Cork rear grip.

 

Full-Grip Flair: A flared taper towards the butt of the rod with an all cork or Syn-Cork grip.

 

Split-Grip Straight: A straight taper with a split rear grip.

 

Split-Grip Flair: A flared taper towards the butt of the rod with a split rear grip.

 

Split-Grip WINN: Only available with a WINN Grip spinning reel seat. This rod pairs the WINN grip reel seat with a like split-grip rear piece.

 

Handle Material:

Cork: A Classic look and feel. We use only the highest grade of cork when making our custom rods. This is the standard option, and our most popular.

Syn-Cork: Syn-Cork is an inorganic material that will not dry-rot or deteriorate. It is incredibly durable, and slightly lighter then regular cork. It has a rough texture, but smooths out after use.

4" WINN with Cork Hybrid: This is a combo that has growing support from many anglers. Combining the classic properties of cork with the eye-catching comfort of a WINN grip, this handle gives you the best of both worlds.

Torzite: The lightest, highest quality guide possible. A titanium frame with an extremely hard, smooth torzite ring.
