i will be posting fishing reports on this thread. be sure to check back often.

i havent been able to locate many fish as of late. the lakes have turned over. carp are starting to school up for the winter. i caught a bunch of walleyes in an un pressured lake.

otherwise the fish have moved deep. i have heard of people going deeper than 40 feet for walleye

me and a fellow fisherman were on a good walleye bite in deeper water.

water temps were in the mid to low 40s. jigging heavy jigs, tipped with fat heads did the trick

walleyes are still biting in deepwater. we were fishing between 60 and 70 FOW. heavy jigs tipped with minnows. they were biting short, adding a stinger hook reduced the amount of bites. but hooking percentage went way up

Fished Minnewaska Saturday morning. Walked out from the beach in Starbuck to the first break. My 2 buddies and I iced 4 walleyes from 8-11am. All were 15"-16". Had 7" of ice although people were driving wheelers out farther.

Fished miltona saturday. Between 4 of us we ended up with 9 walleyes between 14 and 16 inches. No big ones and a few small 12 inchers. The ice was 7 inches on the west end of the lake.

Thanks for the report Randy! There is a lot of good water to fish up there (or should I say Ice grin). One lake I really want to spend some time on is Osakis. It gets a lot of pressure but still produces a lot of good fish.

Keep up the good work, laugh

There are some great lakes in that area. I know of a few lakes that are under the radar that usually get hot towards the end of January... wink

sight fishing the day after christmans (right when the storm started)

the day started slow, but after a while i started to figure the fish out

this bass came in with a buddy. side by side, the first one hit, but immediatly spat it back out. then this guy got it.

just goes to show, bass like the small stuff during the winter!

jumbo!

should have had another jumbo. but it wrapped in the cattail stems. and got off.

afterward, i caught a few sunnies and crappies.

shortly before the crappie came in i had a HUGE bass come in, easily 5 lbs. likely over 6. it was ENORMOUS! but i got a bit of an adrenaline rush and spooked it by jigging to much =[

i also had a big bowfin lay right below my hole for 10 minutes, but couldnt get it to bite. so i moved on, since the sunfish wouldnt come in while it was there

here is the final catch
