With the daytime temps holding in the 30’s and a few nights hovering in the mid to low 20’s it will not take much to put a layer of ice on the smaller lakes or bays. A few cold nights, no wind and no rain or snow will do it. Last year we were on the ice the end of November but the temperatures this fall has been much cooler already.
This up-coming weekend I will be putting the skins back on my Clam portables. This will be the time that I get everything ready and fix anything that may have been broken or missing from last year. Then get through deer season and the waiting will begin.
