I spoke with a good friend last night. Last weekend the Eyes (during the day) were going VERY strong in front of malmo 21-24 ft. Troll Perch colored # 5 shad raps with leadcore.

Hopefully I'm planning on next weekend 10/24 for some night time trolling cranks.

Good report. The baitfish must still be holding out in that deeper water. It shouldn't take long for them to slide up to the shallows with all the cool days we have been having.

Later,

A lot of lakes in the Metro have risen quite a bit with the recent rains. Where there is good weed cover, the bait fish seem to have already moved in, at least the perch and crappies are there now in a lot places for something. They were hard to come by before the lake levels rose. There are very often a few walleyes, some pretty nice, behind them later in the evening as shallow as 8 feet on the outside weedline. This year we aren't seeing the magic marker, cigar eyes feeding with the perch either.

Spoke with a few people and two words describe the bite. Very Slow.

I got this report from Hunter Findfields and Appeldoorn's. This am.

Hopefully the weather will get better next week for the Nov. moon bite.

The reef markers have been removed, so be careful and pay attention to your electronics / gps

Too bad the bite is slow this year. Sounds like most of the fish are staying out deep on the flats instead of coming in shallow like most years. Guess I'll just have to keep fishing the river. I was looking forward to some moon-lighted trolling, maybe next year.

Don't count it out so soon... November into december weather permitting can be the best trolling bite of the season!!! There is always a seasonal movement for walleyes just keep and eye on the weather and plan accordingly and don't be suprised when u stumble in to some hog walleyes...by the way I've never heard of a year when the eyes wernt up shallow on the rocks... Maybe slow but the eyes will be there... I would give this november full moon a try if I were u... I'm sure as heck gonna be out there...

The walleyes in the fall are in those rocks for one reason: to feed. Anyone who's dropped a transducer down the hole or driven over the flats, you had to have seen the massive schools of baitfish. The fish just don't seem to hungry.

I don't know what the tullibee spawn looked like this year, or if it's happened yet, bt that's a good time to get out on the rocks and pull some silver and black husky jerks...
