I forgot to mention the other day that I took a little trip to foster to toss a spinner or two for trout. The lake is up about two feet, but extremely clear. I used a #2 Mepps with a clean treble in copper. Good choice.

I beached 4 fish and managed a buch of follows and short hits. The trout I got are still swimming and we nice fish. 20" or so was the lengthiest.

Having this year-round trout fishery is nice for exactly what I did....a quick trip. Its a quick fix. In a coupe weeks the big browns should start to make their annual cold water appearence, but the water needs to come down in temp yet. 1st ice is super Brookie time and those animals are super-charged on a short rod.

After the trout fling though its been back to serious fishing [crappies] again though and todays adventure was sweet. I still love that change of pace the trout offer.
