Another nod for Gamma. I've never felt the need to try flouro on the spool; I use the smallest Spro swivel available with a flouro leader on all my rods, ice and open water. The swivel helps with line twist which you will get with any mono type lin

Dutch, No worries about the base. I ran an LX-3 before my FL20 so I know all about running it around a vex. The only vex case that I like is the blue box, which is what I had my FL20 on.

Craig, Losing the bottom zoom on the VX-1 is a bummer. I live in that on mine. If Marcum can't fix it, the newer VX-1P is a bit beefed up version at under 300 new, pretty much the same, just a little more guts and a carrying case. The FL-20 is go

While this does NOT pertain to reel care, the issue is often confused with a bound up line roller in the bail mechanism....its line twist caused by using the reel's handle to close the bail. Close it by hand. Make it a habit. This vertical jigging d
